Dr. Freeland opened the practice in 1999 as Companion Animal Hospital and Clinic. In 2013 he sold to Best Friends Pet Care, creating the Freeland Animal Hospital that people know of today. Staying on as Medical Director, Dr. Freeland continues the same level of patient care as he did as owner. Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Freeland received a degree from the University of Nebraska before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 1988. Gracie came to us about 6 years ago from a client that could no longer care for her. She was overweight and needed to lose about half her body weight! Once we got her to where she needed to be, she has been on a strict diet. She spends her time in the treatment room where it is quieter and less stressful. She is the best cuddler anybody could ask for!

Ragnar (named after a Viking king) came to us as a kitten very cold and weighing only 13 ounces! He has since grown into a healthy, active, sometimes sweet, and mischievous kitty! He’s attempting to fill some big paw prints here at Freeland Animal Hospital, and is learning more each day. He likes to greet people and pets alike. In his free time he likes eating, sleeping, eating, his toy mice, picking on Dr. Premo’s dogs, and did we mention eating?

Dr. Freeland and his staff are very thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. They were so gentle with my cat who was very nervous her first visit. I would recommend them in a heartbeat
