Meet Our Team
Dr. Freeland opened the practice in 1999 as Companion Animal Hospital and Clinic. In 2013 he sold to Best Friends Pet Care, creating the Freeland Animal Hospital that people know of today. Staying on as Medical Director, Dr. Freeland continues the same level of patient care as he did as owner. Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Freeland received a degree from the University of Nebraska before receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 1988. He enjoys general practice and has a special interest in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. When not at work, he enjoys running, hiking, hunting, football, and spending time with his two children, Grant and Kelly.

Though she starts her college career in January of 2018, she plans on continuing her position here on her breaks and vacations from school, where she is going to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. As a lifelong soccer player, Kelly also works as a soccer coach, teaching others the game she loves. In her free time she enjoys playing guitar, fishing, hiking, and reading. Kelly finds herself fluent in sarcasm, as well as semi-fluent in Sign Language; something that will help us here at the hospital, as well as her future career endeavors.

Gracie came to us about 6 years ago from a client that could no longer care for her. She was overweight and needed to lose about half her body weight! Once we got her to where she needed to be, she has been on a strict diet. She spends her time in the treatment room where it is quieter and less stressful. She is the best cuddler anybody could ask for!
"Dogs have owners, cats have staff" - Unknown
Dr. Freeland and his staff are very thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. They were so gentle with my cat who was very nervous her first visit. I would recommend them in a heartbeat
